Ghanaian actor Van Vicker is looking forward to teach after he is done with his master’s.
According to the venerated actor who recently graduated from the African University College of Communications (AUCC) a few weeks ago.
He told Jessica Opare Saforo and Kwaku David on the Traffic Avenue on 97.3 Citi FM that because of the COVID-19, his school could not graduate him last year. So he decided to enroll in a master’s programme and will be graduating from it by December.
He added that he would want to lecture before he pursues his doctorate degree.
“I want to lecture for a while after my master’s before I do my PhD” he said.
According to Van who completed secondary school some twenty-four (24) years ago, his mother’s inability to fund his education prevented him from furthering his education.
A few weeks ago, he posted on his Instagram page: “21years later, here I stand before you with 3 achievements during my graduation; to God be the Glory. 1. 1st class honors. 2. Best Student in Strategic communication. 3. Best Communication Student Award.”
“The above is within the context of my 2021 post on social media and is in no way presumptuous but uprightly to inspire – I could not enroll at a tertiary institution in 1997 because my single mother did not have the funds. If free SHS was available back in the day, most likely I would have graduated in 2000/2001,” he added.
He further stated that: “My career took off and I have been blessed but as someone who relishes education getting that degree was just a matter of time. I complete my Master’s program this December and I am sorely motivated and committed to go even beyond, God willing. I thank all those who supported me and are supporting me during this journey. #educational #theyounggodfather.”
Van Vicker starred in movies such as Divine Love, Mummy’s Daughter, Broken Tears, Darkness of Sorrow, among others.
